From Eye of the Beholder…

Leonard was again alone with the portrait. Alone with his lady. She was truly beautiful, he thought. Almost real. “Why am I so afraid of you and yet so attracted to you?” he asked, then sheepishly looked around the empty hallway. He was talking to a lifeless painting.
But was it really so lifeless?
His thoughts were interrupted by a soft voice on the intercom: “The gallery will be closing in five minutes. Thank you for visiting us today. Please come again soon.”
It was time to leave. Leonard felt like a teenager at the end of his first date. He wanted one last kiss but her father was flashing the porch lights…
